Around 1,000 Romanian Hungarians from Covasna county gathered in front of the Prefecture of Sfantu Gheorghe to „defend the Szekler flag”. Their protest follows a declaration of Antal Arpad, local president of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) from Sfantu Gheorghe, who recently asked the prefect of Covasna, Codrin Munteanu, to speak out a public apology. Munteanu before had compared the Szekler flag to a flag of a football club or a car manufacturer.
